Your hair looks swell.

So it’s finals week here at IUPUI and I just took my most difficult one. Calculus. I realized about one third of the way through the course that I would never be a business major. Eww gross. It was one of those tests that you walk into saying to yourself, “Shit. I’ve got this stuff down. There’s no way I’ll do badly.” Wrong! I’m sure I did terribly on that exam…the good news is: I could care less at this point. Last night I babysat for one of the cutest kids you’ll ever see, Korbin. And about 2 hours after he went to bed he woke up crying. I rocked him until he was asleep again then he sat straight up in my lap and proceeded to projectile vomit all over me, my white sweater, and the chair. If you have ever seen a baby puke, it’s one of the saddest sights. They have no idea what is going on, what to do, or how to hold it in until there is something other than my front half to let go. Needless to say, he would not go back to sleep unless I was holding him and I was scared to leave him alone in his crib so I studied for my exam last night with an 8-month old baby sleeping on my chest. *sigh*

I have 2 finals left – Italian and the exam portion of Interior Design. My brother’s 28th birthday is Wednesday, his surprise party is Tuesday night shh, my work Christmas party is tonight (catered by Hollyhock Hill!) and all I want to do is celebrate the holidays with a drink and good people. It’s been a rough year, don’t I deserve at least that?

You know what makes me happy? When random people decide it’s in everyone’s best interests to approach you and have long deep conversations. Brooke and I were enjoying a relaxing night at our local BWs on Friday and man and woman, who called herself Phaloneous Monk, came to our table and talked with us for about 3 hours and then proceeded to buy all the drinks Brooke and I had had during our stay. It served as a great distraction from the depression that walked into my life earlier that night. Thank you, Phaloneous. Thank you.

I hope to see you all out this weekend to kick off my Christmas Break!
