“WANTED”

“25-year-old Wes was the most disaffected, cube-dwelling drone the planet had ever known. His boss chewed him out hourly, his girlfriend ignored him routinely and his life plodded on interminably. Everyone was certain this disengaged slacker would amount to nothing. There was little else for Wes to do but wile away the days and die in his slow, clock-punching rut. Until he met a woman named Fox. After his estranged father is murdered, the deadly sexy Fox recruits Wes into the Fraternity, a secret society that trains Wes to avenge his dad’s death by unlocking his dormant powers. As she teaches him how to develop lightning-quick reflexes and phenomenal agility, Wes discovers this team lives by an ancient, unbreakable code: carry out the death orders given by fate itself. With wickedly brilliant tutors–including the Fraternity’s enigmatic leader, Sloan–Wes grows to enjoy all the strength he ever wanted. But, slowly, he begins to realize there is more to his dangerous associates than meets the eye. And as he wavers between newfound heroism and vengeance, Wes will come to learn what no one could ever teach him: he alone controls his destiny.”

Just got back from seeing this (I know people who know people that we got hooked up with an early screening) and I’ll have to say that if you’re an action fan you HAVE to see this, this was an awesome movie.

The effects were awesome, granted a lot of the action was unrealistic, but come on, have an imagination. The effects flowed smoothly with the movie, almost gave you the slight thought that… ya know, maybe that could happen given the right circumstances.

The overall story line of the movie was pretty good, the only reason why this movie didn’t get another 1/2 point for my rating was due to the “Mystical Loom of Destiny”, once you see the movie you’ll know what I’m talking about, the entire movie was bad ass until they brought that piece in, cut that piece out and tie up some loose ends with the ending and bam, you have yourself 3 1/2 glasses easy.

The acting was decent as well, I mean no Emmy/Academy Awards will be handed out for this movie, but better than some I’ve seen. I did notice that Angelina Jolie did not have very many lines in this movie, which I thought was odd, however maybe they couldn’t afford to pay her for her lines as they opted for the butt shot from her, hmm tough call on that one haha.

Overall I would have to say one of the better movies I’ve seen in a while…I’ll give it 3 out of 4 martini glasses…LOL. Definitely a must see and I’d even watch it again, paying full price.
