Quantum of Solace

“QUANTUM OF SOLACE continues the high octane adventures of James Bond (DANIEL CRAIG) in CASINO ROYALE. In a minefield of treachery, murder and deceit, Bond allies with old friends in a battle to uncover the truth. As he gets closer to finding the man responsible for the betrayal of Vesper, 007 must keep one step ahead of the CIA, the terrorists and even M, to unravel Greene’s sinister plan and stop his organisation.”

Wow…just wow…what can I say? Most disappointing Bond movie EVER. I was hesitant when they came out with Casino Royale as they would be introducing a new Bond (Daniel Craig), however I was blown away by it. Quantum of Solace was apparently supposed to be a “continuation” of Casino Royale…in all actuality it was only a severe disappointment to me. Did not live up to ANY of it’s Bond predecessors.

The plot was a bit confusing to follow, very sporadic. The movie was just non-stop, like it needed to catch it’s breath or something. And if you hadn’t seen Casino Royale…you’d be more than lost in this flick. They didn’t have much of a story to the film…basically Bond just chasing leads and killing people…explosion here…fight scene there…throw in a car chase and a foot chase and bam…there’s the movie…sorry to spoil it for you.

The visual effects were the only saving grace of the film. Everything was done very well and on occasion you couldn’t tell if something was CG. The movie was jam packed with action and if that’s all you’re looking for in the movie then bingo, they hit the nail on the head, but me personally (being a Bond fan and all) I have two words for it…EPIC FAIL.

Without a plot…there isn’t much need for great acting. While it was decent acting by the cast, there just wasn’t much need for it when basically the whole movie is set around explosions.

It breaks my heart to have to give such a classic movie series such a bad review, but it just didn’t hold true to all of the Bond fans out there…I know Mr. Connery would be disappointed (greatest Bond of all!). I’ll rank this one…two out of four martini glasses. I would wait for the DVD…unless you have the option to see it for free…there is no point in paying for this, rent it…maybe from a RedBox machine so it’s only a buck. Save yourself the trouble and disappointment.

Until next time mofo’s…see ya at the movies!!
