Pride Week 2014 Nitty Gritty Pt. 1 Featuring Mary Lambert

Every year the folks at Circle City IN Pride spoil the city of Indianapolis with a week’s worth of marvelous events, and Pride Week 2014 is shaping up to be one to remember. Grab your calendar now because you’re about to pencil some stuff in. You don’t want to miss any of the spectacular special guests (we’re talking Mary Lambert and Dave Audé), themed events, or opportunities to dance!

Just picture it: flashing lights, dance music, and a roller rink swelling with Pride.

Bring the family to the Roller Cave Family Fun Center for a night of, well, family fun. $12 admission ($7 for 12 & under) gets you entry, skates, two slices of pizza, and unlimited soft drinks and popcorn. But wait, there’s more! Just when you weren’t expecting the Pride Skate to be Wizard of Oz themed… the Pride Skate is totally Wizard of Oz themed!

Time to leash up the pooch and dress her to the ca-nines. That’s right – it’s time for Pet Pride. On Monday, June 9th, Garfield Park will host Indy’s Fourth Annual Pet Pride. With a day’s-worth of pet contests, Indy’s own McKenzie from i94 as the emcee, and over 25 food, pet merch, and pet service vendors, this Monday night will be the highlight of your little buddy’s spring. If your tail isn’t wagging yet, you and Bae should check out the event’s Facebook page and take a moment to imagine the Instagram photo-ops. The all-ages event is open to the public, but ALL attendees must sign a liability release form and those who wish to participate in contests must preregister (both forms available at Circle City IN Pride’s website). Admission is free and the adorableness commences at 6pm at Shelters 3 & 4 of Garfield Park.

GIRL PRIDE – Thursday, June 12

Wanna have some fun with Grampa? Surprise him with a night out at Talbott Street Night Club this Thursday for Girl Pride. After selling out last year, this Pride Week event is raising the bar this year by bringing Grammy-nominated signer Mary Lambert to perform (that’s right, the “Same Love star” will be gracing the Hoosier state!). Be sure to get your tickets in advance for a night of special guests, dancing, and (dare I say it?) girl-on-girl action at Talbott Street Night Club in downtown Indy. Here’s the event page so you and Gramps remember to RSVP.

BAG LADIES: LOUD & PROUD – Thursday, June 12

231 E. 16th St. Indianapolis, IN 46202

Circle City Pride is adamant that you don’t want to miss this event. ‘Who are the Bag Ladies?’ you ask? Well, at first they seem like any ordinary group of men dressed like women. But according to Indy Pride’s website, they’re the Indiana-based HIV/AIDS fundraising team on a mission to raise $70,000 this year. The 21 and up show featuring the lively bunch that is the Bag Ladies starts at 9 at Greg’s in downtown Indy.
