No pain no gain? Even with fibromyalgia?

Its spring and everyone is trying to get their bathing suit body or maybe still sticking with their new years resolution, if so congratulations. Exercise is good for many things and doesn’t have to many downfalls. It is normal to assume the pain, that muscles generate after a good work is just part of the routine. Well that doesn’t have to be the case. A recent published study (double blinded) revealed that ginger, in supplement form or heated, decreased muscle pain associated with working out. The used regiment was taking the recommended supplement capsule form for 11 days at minimum, and voila, decreased muscle pain. It was suggested that if more ginger was taken than suggested the pain free properties may be greater. So taking ginger on a daily basis while training or general exercise will decrease the amount of muscle pain after workouts.

For people suffering from fibromyalgia the same was true with tart cherry juice and exercise. It was shown to decrease the amount of reported pain in people suffering from fibromyalgia after exericse, by up to 20%. That might not sound like much, but when 20% pain reduction is enough to allow people to do chores on their own, pick up a child, or just go for a walk on nice day, it can make a huge difference.
