IndyMojo launches an “All Things Festival” online radio station featuring the best local, national, and international EDM and Jam-based artists.
On Friday, February 22nd, the local media outlet and event promotions team from IndyMojo.com will unveil their latest mutation. “Mojo Radio”, a 24/7 internet stream of local, national and international EDM and Jam-based music, seeks to fill the void in the Indianapolis radio landscape that traditional broadcast radio has yet to properly acknowledge.
Described as “festival radio” by IndyMojo.com owner Jason King, listeners tuning in can expect to hear music from artists as diverse as Skrillex, Umphrey’s McGee, Daft Punk, Pretty Lights, deadmau5, Phish, and local talent such as The Twin Cats, jFet, Adam Jay, and Cosby Sweater.
“We’re already accepting local artist submissions at www.indymojo.com/mojoradio and the local music community has really responded”, says King. The service will officially begin broadcasting at http://radio.indymojo.com at 9PM on Friday, Feb 22nd.
IndyMojo enlisted long-time EDM radio personality Rudy Kizer from “Hit The Decks” Radio to curate the station’s library and act as Program Director. “Rudy Kizer was the natural choice to fill this position and we are honored to have him on the team”, said King. A twelve-year veteran of traditional broadcast radio and a fixture in the Indianapolis EDM community, Kizer said “I’m humbled to be asked to program a channel like this. It’s a huge mountain to climb, but the IndyMojo family has been tremendously supportive and we’re all ready to make this thing happen. Friday is the big day and we’re amped to officially say ‘hello’ to you all.”
“Mojo Radio” adds another facet to IndyMojo’s extensive online presence and a forward face on their efforts to bolster the Indianapolis music scene. Pairing these efforts with the site’s established promotional reach, they have cultivated a roster of artists on their G-9 Collective record label, managed by Promotions Director Matt Ramsey.
IndyMojo already partners with live music juggernauts Live Nation, The Vogue, and The Mousetrap. Support for the project from these partners has been swift and substantial. “We are excited to have another promotional outlet for our EDM and Jam-based concerts in the Indianapolis market”, said Kyle Johnston from Live Nation. “With our commitment to EDM, having a local outlet that caters specifically to those fans is important. Mojo Radio looks to be that outlet for us.”
“We are excited to be hosting the launch of Mojo Radio and we look forward to taking advantage of the platform’s promotional reach”, said The Vogue’s Matt Schwegman.
The Mousetrap’s Owner, Mike Quarto added, “We have entrusted our Thursday nights to IndyMojo since 2010, and if ‘Mojo Radio’ is as effective as Altered Thurzdaze, then count us in.”
Established in 2007, IndyMojo.com has fast become a go-to media outlet for EDM and Jam-based events in Indiana. Their unique “cross-pollination” approach to marketing pairs artist interviews and new music releases with heavy online and street team promotion. IndyMojo.com has amassed over 20,000 user profiles and produces, promotes or sponsors over 200 events per year.
To celebrate the official launch of “Mojo Radio”, IndyMojo has partnered with The Vogue, Absolut Vodka and Jameson Irish Whiskey for a FREE show on Friday, February 22nd at The Vogue Theater. Scheduled to perform are the station’s own Rudy Kizer, emerging Bloomington Bass/Beat producer “Shy Guy Says” and Atlanta based national headliner “heRobust”, who is taking time away from his tour with Big Gigantic to help IndyMojo celebrate.
