Normally this time of year I am running around getting things ready for the Strides Against Breast Cancer walk that takes place October 16th.

While I have signed up to captain the team, I unfortunately wont be able to run fundraisers and man the team the day of. Due to my tight and VERY busy schedule at work there is just very little time left.

The team will remain, so please feel free to raise on your own and walk the day of…but I will just be getting back in town from my 2nd of 3 trips planned for October.

I am already getting ready for meetings that will be for next years Relay for Life…so my hiatus wont be long.

I hope you are all understanding in me needing to back away for this one charity and hope to still see a Mojo team representing at the Cancer Walk.

The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.

At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.

For IndyMojo this will be the third year the IndyMojo Pirates will takeover the track of Relay for Life. I will be captaining the team for the second year.

Our first year of Relay was at the Fishers Relay in June 2008. Our team had the biggest presence and raised the second highest amount of all the teams. We had a blast raising money for a great cause.

When i initially took over the charity efforts of IndyMojo, my goal was to hit as many different Relay for Life’s as possible to show other places what IndyMojo is and how to get involved as well.

With that mentality we took our 2009 efforts to the Carmel Relay. Our team again exceeded donations in put us in the top teams. We were the only team to decorate our entire area, the only team to have a booth on the field and the only team to participate in the theme laps. Our efforts were so noticed that we were BEGGED to return to the Carmel Relay and I was asked to join the committee for the Relay as well.

The past several months i have worked with several others in the Carmel area in preparation for the Carmel Relay that will take place Saturday June 5th at 9am until Sunday June 6th at 9am. We have been meeting and planning since November 2009.

I have been put in charge of the theme laps and really hope to see a jump in participation versus last year. There will be a ton more activities and our goals for fundraising are just as aggressive.

If you want to be a part of a team that is known for its ability to fundraise and bring a spark/spirit to the event then visit our team page Here. If you have any questions on how you can be a part of the Relay effort for this year please send me a hotbox or an email (elise@indymojo.com).

The more the merrier and the better our fundraising efforts will be. I hope to fully exceed the last two years. Please join the team by april 14th to get your Relay for Life shirt that will feature IndyMojo’s logo as a Platinum sponsor!

Mark your Calendar for June 5/6
at the Carmel High School and keep informed in the forums about any details or fundraising efforts we have planned in the upcoming weeks.

I am a proud member of IndyMojo.com and this event is one of the main reasons. We do so much to get people involved that often involve bars, etc that this event really takes IndyMojo to a whole new level! Truly an unforgettable experience.

If you cant be a part of the actual Relay, please make a small donation if you can. Any and all is appreciated and you can donate to the whole team!

So, it’s that time of year

This should spark some interesting convo! :)

So, I’m all for people being successful at what they do. And doing what they love. And being recognized for their talents. I am happy for Taylor Swift and all she’s been able to already accomplish in her short time in the musical industry. She’s young and talented and I’m sure will be around for a good while.

Here’s my real issue.

She’s a country singer. Produces country albums. Wins country music awards. Appears on country stations. You get what I’m saying. I understand that she’s a crossover artist with her “pop” country songs popular with all the little girls nowadays.

So, her popularity has caused her country twang to appear on the same radio stations i tune into to hear Jay-Z, Rihanna, Beyonce, NeYo, etc. There’s something that’s just not right about that. If i wanted to hear a country singer i would have those stations programmed into my presets. But i dont. because i dont listen to country. At the AMA’s Taylor won Best Female COUNTRY artist and Best COUNTRY album and was able to beat out Beyonce, Lady Gaga and even Michael Jackson for Artist of the Year.

It’s come to the point for me that i completely dont listen to any of the “HOT” radio stations in our area. I cant stand to hear country on a station that also plays “We Run This Town”. I now just listen to my mix cds of the music i want to hear so that im not changing from one station playing Taylor Swift to another playing Taylor Swift.

I guess im just a hip-hop/pop lover and should just accept that she’s what’s considered hot and new regardless of genre. but my fix is simply not listening to the radio anymore. and if i do…i’m tuned into 104.5 Classic Rock. At least then i know i wont have to change the station due to Taylor’s popularity.

we all need a little relaxation in our lives…

a moment to ourselves…

some pampering…

a girls afternoon/night might be in the works for a little pampering for some mojo ladies…

details are being ironed out…but stay tuned for your chance to relax…

Having been in the corporate world for over 5 years now, I have come to understand that it is eerily similar to a soap opera with day to day interoffice drama, disagreements, love affairs, backstabbing, mega egos, and so much more. I am usually just the bystander in the crowd watching the imminent train wreck that is about to occur, but this time

Janurary Edition of Girls Night Out was a HUGE success!!! For our first get together and only having one little hiccup it went pretty smoothly, and the ladies had a blast!!

We started the night by enjoying some grub and martinis at Applebees in Castleton!! YUM!!

The plan was to then head to AMC Castleton Square to get in on the Sneek Peek of Bride Wars…

However, we all got to chatting and well…by the time we got over there…the movie was sold out. :(

but we didnt let that rain on our parade, so we hit upSwell’s pad in the ripple for some Apples to Apples goodness!!

After a LONG stressful (i only got one card…the very last one!!) game…we walked to Buckwildz to get our bull riding on!! They hooked us up with the VIP treatment!!
cheers:

group bull shot!

Check out all the rest of the awesome pics over here!!!!

Be sure to get on the bus for the Girls Night Out Live Group to find out deets of other upcoming Girls Nights Out or to express your opinion on what you wanna do next!!

Girls Night Out #2 is already planned and it includes sushi, martinis, comedy, grub, and dancing!!

So, Get your roll call on!!!

It’s Ladies NIGHT!!
